Due to its high elevation, the Eagle's Nest is only open from about mid May through October and closed in the winter.
In low season we offer an Obersalzberg / Bunker tour which is a history-focused tour of the former 3rd Reich sites near the Eagle's Nest. The two-hour tour includes the remaining original buildings at Obersalzberg, the historical importance of Hitler's former residence and southern headquarters on the mountain, a short tour of the Third Reich museum (Dokumentation Obersalzberg), a short biography of Hitler and an extended tour of the underground bunker system.
Our Obersalzberg/Bunker Tour (conducted only in English), operates every morning (except Sundays, Mondays and Holidays) from Nov. until the middle of May at 10:00 a.m. (duration 2 hours) departing from the Berchtesgaden (Germany) tourist office. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED.
For parties of 1 - 4 participants, we offer a package price of EUR 100 for the guiding and transportation starting and ending at the Berchtesgaden Visitors Center. Additionally, each participant pays an admission fee of EUR 3 for the museum and bunkers. For groups of 5 or more, the price of EUR 25 per person plus EUR 3 per person (entrance fee) applies.
